Submission of bids will not be allowed after the designated time. You must register as a supplier in IonWave in order to submit a response and are encouraged to do so at least two (2) business days prior to the bid opening.
The Work consists of the following:
Project improvements include bar screen replacement; washer compactor replacement; screenings conveyance system replacement; dry weather pumps replacement; suction and discharge piping modifications; wet well modifications; slide gates replacement; installation of heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) modifications; associated electrical improvements; classified space interior building modifications; site work; and other associated work. These improvements are recommended to address reduced pumping capacity, increased flow to the mechanical treatment facility system, and NFPA 820 compliance requirements.
A Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held at 1:00PM CT on August 19, 2025, at the Okun Fieldhouse 1, 20200 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, Kansas 66218. A Mandatory Site Visit will follow at Mill Creek Wastewater Treatment Facility at 20001 W 47th Street, Shawnee, KS 66218.
BID BOND: Bidders shall submit with their bid a bid bond issued by a surety company licensed to do business in the State of Kansas in the amount of five percent (5.0%) of the total amount of their bid. Said guarantee shall be made payable to the Board of County Commissioners of Johnson County, Kansas.
NONRESIDENT CONTRACTORS: In accordance with K.S.A. 79-1008 through 79-1015, upon award of contracts greater than $10,000, nonresident contractors or subcontractors that are not already registered with the Kansas Secretary of State are required by law to register with the Director of Taxation and file an acceptable bond as a precedent to commencing work on the contract.
TAX CLEARANCE: The successful Bidder to this IFB shall be required to submit Tax Clearance Certifications, as provided for in the Instructions to Bidders, prior to issuance of the Notice to Proceed.
No bid may be withdrawn within a period of sixty (60) days from the date of the bid opening.
The County reserves the right to award the contract to the lowest and best, responsive and responsible bidder(s) for the work covered by the bid and to reject any or all bids and to waive irregularities and informalities in any bid submitted.
No bidder shall in any way, directly or indirectly, discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment or any other person because of age, race, color, disability, sex, national origin or religious creed, or other circumstance prohibited by federal state or local law, rule or regulation.
