INTENT

The objective of this Invitation for Bid for Lawrence Public Schools (“LPS”) is to solicit bids as defined within the Project Manual and Drawings. The intent of LPS is to enter into a contract with the successful bidder to install LPS procured chillers.

Under this solicitation, LPS will consider bids based upon what constitutes the lowest and best responsive bid.

Any contract, if issued, will be subject to annual appropriation of funds by LPS in accordance with its normal funding practices that will include but is not limited to budget allocations and limitations. In the event that funds are not available in full or in part for a contract issued in connection with this service, this contract will be subject to modification or cancellation depending upon the extent of available funds. If a bidder’s contract is cancelled, or funding is no longer available for work that has already been done per the terms of the contract, the Contractor will be compensated to the greatest extent possible. LPS may cancel the contract in its entirety without penalty if funding is not available.

IFB Published: December 10, 2025

Pre-bid Meeting: January 5, 2026 at 9:00 AM CDT

IFB Questions Due: January 12, 2026 by 4:00 PM CDT

Answers/Addendum Due: January 14, 2026 by 4:00 PM CDT

Bid Due: January 21, 2026 by 9:00 AM CDT

Project Completion: August 1, 2026

Pre-Bid Meeting. There will be a pre-bid meeting at the above time at Lawrence High School.1901 Louisiana St., Lawrence, KS 66046. All persons attending the pre-bid meeting must present picture ID at the Security Desk.

Submissions of Bid. Three (3) bound copies, marked “Copy”, one (1) unbound original marked “Original” with one (1) flash drive, in PDF format enclosed with the original, which contains the Contractor’s entire response. Each original and copies are to have the appropriate tabs. Bids must be received at the address listed below no later than the above time. If you are hand delivering the bid, it must be delivered to Facilities & Operations building located at 711 E. 23rd Street, Building A, Lawrence, Kansas 66046 and received and time-stamped prior to the close date and time. Additionally, for hand delivered bids, please plan your schedule accordingly to allow up to thirty (30) minutes time prior to the close time to check-in at the front Security Guard desk. Bids received after that date and time will not be considered and will be returned unopened. Submittal packages must be clearly marked showing the number and the title of the IFB.

The bids will be publicly opened at 9:00 AM CDT January 21, 2026 at the Facilities & Operations building located at 711 East 23rd Street, Lawrence, KS 66046. All persons attending the bid opening at the Facilities and Operations building must present picture ID at the Security Desk.

All bids must be mailed and/or hand delivered to the Purchasing Department, received, date and time stamped prior to the close date and time of the IFB.

Questions. All questions regarding this IFB shall be made electronically via e-mailand directed to Eric Goff at eric@lankfordfendler.com before time and date specified. The subject of the e-mail shall be “QUESTION IFB F&O.” Failure to provide the correct IFB number in the email will deem the question unanswerable and will not be considered as part of any addenda. Responses to all properly submitted questions will be posted on the District’s E-bidding website as addenda to this IFB. LPS reserves the right to combine questions with similar objectives into a single responsive answer. Any questions submitted after that date and time will not be considered or answered.
